Council cops verbal assault from farmers over ‘inequitable’ rating system
ALTHOUGH only 8 days were initially given for public comment on the 2021/22 Northern Grampians Shire Council (NGSC) Budget, there were sixteen submissions received, largely from farmers who attacked the budget, and the rating system that supports the rates forming the bulk of the budget, for what they called its inequities.
